Top FAQ's

Have questions? We’ve got answers! If this doesn’t cover what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help.

This is very important to understand. Let’s start with a few basics before properly answering this question.

The human endocrine system (which refers to the glands & organs responsible for hormone production & regulation) can be disrupted by a variety of natural & unnatural factors. It’s also worth noting how incredibly important hormones are to our health. They play a critical role in growth & development, reproductive function, stress response, metabolism, and more.

Now, it’s also important to consider that almost all of your cells have hormone receptors. These are tiny protein molecules that typically sit on the outside of the cell, and are designed bind to specific hormones flowing through your bloodstream. Once the hormone binds to the receptor, the cell then performs its respective bodily function. For example, you might consider a testosterone molecule that binds to cells in your muscle tissue to repair itself after exercise.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that both men & women rely upon testosterone AND estrogen for optimal health. Of course, men produce far more testosterone and women produce more estrogen. Still, testosterone and estrogen receptors are found in cell tissue all through the male and female body.

So, why does this matter?

In today’s society, our food, water, and everyday products are saturated with endocrine disrupting chemicals (or EDC’s). This is a wide ranging term for chemicals found in meat, vegetables, fruit, water, medicines, cigarettes & e-cigarettes, plastics, styrofoam, skincare products, pesticides, and even fragrances.

Here’s the issue. EDC’s often ‘mimic’ your body’s natural hormones they’re so similar in molecular structure. For example, plastic water bottles often contain a compound called Bisphenol A (BPA), which mimics estrogen once it enters your bloodstream.

This has two major implications.

1) To start, EDC’s bind to your cell’s hormone receptors. This impairs its ability to perform healthy cellular function.

2) When this happens, your body essentially thinks, “I’m producing enough testosterone or estrogen, so I’ll stop making as much of my own.”

This commonly results in irregular hormone levels – which can then cause a variety of unwanted symptoms.

In addition to environmental factors, our genetics and lifestyles also play a part in the equation. High BMI’s and low activity levels are also directly linked to hormone irregularities and deficiencies.

There’s a wide array of symptoms that can be caused by hormone imbalances or deficiencies. To name a few, men & women can both experience unwanted weight gain, challenges building muscle, fatigue, low libido, and irregular moods.

If you feel like you might be experiencing hormone imbalances, you can stop by the clinic and we can take a drawing for comprehensive blood analysis. We’ll review the results with you in person during a follow-up appointment. From there, we will make recommendations on what treatment plans can potentially help.

Some patients do feel the effects in as little as 2-3 weeks! It may take up to 4-5 weeks before you fully feel your hormone therapy’s positive effects. For many new patients, hormones might be very low or imbalanced – and it takes a little time to regulate levels.

Our recommendation is to maintain patience throughout the first month and at least give it 90 days of treatment to get a proper ‘sample size’.
This is optional. If you’d like, you can stop by the clinic anytime during office hours, and one of our staff members can administer your treatment. Walk-ins are always welcome and wait times are very short!

As an alternative, you can potentially take up to 8 weeks of dosages home with you. Simply ask one of our team members if you’re eligible for self-administered treatments.

As of now, we do not take insurance for HRT or other Elite Health treatments.

Elite Health HRT is far more affordable than the vast majority of online providers and in-person clinic. We do not charge for office visits or require membership fees so we can make our therapies more affordable.

Most clinics will require you to book an initial consultation weeks or months in advance (and they oftentimes charge up to $250 just for an appointment). And many clinics also add large markups on lab work – so it might be $500 out of pocket before you even begin your treatments!

With Elite Health HRT, you can expect to spend less than half of that to get started. Keep in mind, investing in the right therapy means you’re investing in yourself!
As with any therapy, all medication can lead to side effects of varying degrees. Our therapies have gone through years of testing to minimize side effects – and we can recommend easy solutions for many of them.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that balancing your hormones actually help you regulate your mood. Especially with men, there’s a common misconception that TRT leads to ‘roid rage’ (in reality, this is because they experience a large spike in estrogen levels!) Our treatments are designed to ensure key hormone levels stay in check and that your body continues producing the hormones it naturally creates.

And think of it this way.. If your hormones were balanced to begin with, you’d experience the ‘side effects’ regardless!

When it comes to hormone therapy, it’s an ongoing balancing act. Your body’s natural levels of hormone can fluctuate over time. – which is perfectly normal! However, this is why it’s important to continually monitor and recalibrate your treatments.

Our HRT treatments don’t simply consist of administering bio-identical hormones into your body.

For men, we also include medications to ensure your body regulates estrogen levels and to continue creating the hormones it does on its own. So, if you stop treatments, your levels would simply return to their original resting state.

For women, there is no set time limit to how long you want to be on therapy. Some women choose to be on HRT as they transition through the perimenopause phase and then wean off once fully menopausal. Other women choose to stay on HRT long term.
  • No. In order for our providers to manage your hormones and keep your body in a therapeutic balance, all HRT must come from one provider. If any adjustments need to be made to therapy, a provider can not change the dose if they did not prescribe the medication.
